Efraim Halevy, former head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, spoke about the Riyadh Arab League summit on Israeli radio.
“All those who participated in Riyadh, anyone that was there to ratify it, anyone who was present in that hall signed this recognition of the State of Israel. …
“The recognition is reflected in the fact that they are all addressing Israel and requesting that Israel accept the initiative. There is recognition here of the State of Israel on the part of each and every one who was present in the hall, including the twin-headed government of the Palestinian Authority, the president and the Hamas prime minister. There is here an unequivocal recognition of the State of Israel.
“Talks should begin between Israel and the Arabs. I think that this would be negotiations that in the end would prove to be positive.”
