July 1994: King Hussein and Prime Minister Rabin sign The Washington Declaration, ending the state of belligerency between the two countries.
October 1994: Treaty of Peace signed.
October 1996: The U.S. Congress establishes Qualifying Industrial Zones (QIZs), industrial parks in Jordan or Israel from which goods can be exported duty free to the U.S.
September 2000: Following the outbreak of the second intifada, Jordan withdraws its ambassador from Tel Aviv
June 2003: Jordan hosts a summit with President Bush and Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon and Mahmoud Abbas.
March 2005: Jordan returns its ambassador to Tel Aviv.
March 2007: King Abdullah takes a lead role in promoting the Arab Peace Initiative.
